Hockey Night In Minnesota

On December 16th, 2025, I had the pleasure of attending a regular-season NHL game between the Minnesota Wild and my favorite team, the Washington Capitals, in St. Paul, Minnesota. This was not the first NHL game I had ever been to, but I am happy to say that it was the first time I have had the opportunity to write about one. I have been a hockey fan for my entire life and a Capitals fan since I was 10 years old. Growing up in eastern South Dakota, the closest NHL team to us was always the Minnesota Wild. I have seen many different eras and rosters from both teams, but this year’s matchup may have been the most interesting yet.

Game Review: Once Upon a Katamari is on a roll!

Once Upon a Katamari is likely one of the biggest bundles of joy that I’ve experienced in a video game this year. 2025 has brought a plethora of brilliant video games, and finishing off the year with this one being the last new title I was excited for made it the cherry on top!

A Halloween Perfomance at Red Rocks

On October 31st, 2025, I had the opportunity to visit the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, for the first time. This legendary venue has been showing musical acts since the 1940s and includes a gorgeous view overlooking the Denver skyline. This concert in particular featured five performances over the evening. Lexa Gates, Meechy Darko and Zombie Juice from Flatbush Zombies, Earl Sweatshirt, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist, and finally Denzel Curry were all on the bill to celebrate Halloween at this sold-out show.

Game Review: Ghost of Yōtei Kicks Ass

After weeks of following golden birds and exploring the world of Ghost of Yotei to its fullest, I finally completed the main story of the game! Ghost of Yotei is an action RPG set in an expansive open world. The game is a sequel to the 2020 Game of the Year nominee Ghost of Tsushima, developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by PlayStation Studios. This release is one of Sony’s major PS5 exclusives for the year and a solid way for players to easily sink another 30+ hours into their consoles before the end of the year.

Album Review: Deadbeat is Groovy and Deceptive

After five long years between album releases, Kevin Parker, the brains and primary artist behind Tame Impala, has finally given fans a new record to spin. During that break, we’ve gotten new music sprinkled in between: features on other artists’ records, movie tie-in songs, and even his executive production work on Dua Lipa’s 2024 album Radical Optimism. But with the introduction of Tame Impala’s new album, Deadbeat, we’re given sonic themes in the artist’s catalog that we’ve never quite heard before.

Spooktober is here. Time to start carving jack-o’-lanterns and plotting out your Halloween costume. As the cold fall air begins to take over and the season transforms the world around us into a desolation of what was once a lively summer, people begin to transition indoors. Some prefer to celebrate the ominous ambiance of Spooktober with some form of scary media to get them in the mood, like a movie or perhaps even a video game. Here’s a list of five horror games to freak you out this Halloween.

Game Review: Silent Hill F Finds Beauty in Horror

*Minor Spoiler Warning about Game Mechanics*

September 25th, 2025 marked the first new mainline installment in the Silent Hill series since 2012. Recently, the franchise has been experiencing a revival, welcoming new fans while allowing older ones to revisit past classics, such as the Silent Hill 2 Remake released last year. Silent Hill F isn’t just a continuation — it’s a bold new idea for the series. Set in 1960s rural Japan, rather than the familiar modern-day ghost town of Silent Hill that past entries have revisited time and again, this game ties the franchise’s psychological and survival horror roots into a fresh experience that breaks away from the monotony that left the series dormant for over a decade.

An Evening with Ethel Cain

As Ethel Cain’s Willoughby Tucker Forever tour came to a close, I had the pleasure of attending the St. Paul show on September 19, 2025, with overpriced resale StubHub tickets. As the stage was set and the house lights dimmed, my friends and I were treated to a mysterious and emotional performance that showed why Hayden Anhedönia, through their alter ego Ethel Cain, remains one of the most captivating acts of the year.

Retrospective: Albums from the Blog Rap Era

The internet was a different space a decade ago. Rather than the digital entity that controls our lives and serves as our main window to media and information, the internet used to be a place to escape the real world. While our current technological integrations can still be seen as beneficial, you have to admit that our digital footprints and online presence have taken a complete 180.

Along with how we interact with the internet, the way we consume media has changed too. Somewhere between CDs and Spotify was a time when artists had to promote their music differently. Blogs and mixtape distribution websites dominated as platforms for artists to share their music for fans to download. These records were often lower-budget and carried a DIY aesthetic that inspired listeners to share and create something of their own. My goal here is to outline some of the best and most noteworthy albums and mixtapes from that era and explain what they did right.

Game Review: Konami’s Orphaned Franchise Returns in 4K

This past weekend, one of the most classic video game franchises returned with a remake of a fan-favorite title. Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is a fresh take on the original 2004 game, introducing high-resolution visuals and revised controls while remaining a faithful recreation of what made the PlayStation 2 version so special. It feels like a triumphant homecoming, giving both new and old fans an upgraded way to revisit the game. Still, this remake carries one big caveat… it was made without the involvement of the franchise’s creator, Hideo Kojima.
